Before we begin the Evolve Beauty review, here’s a little brand introduction: Evolve Organic Beauty are a skincare brand, based in Hertfordshire, England. Their products are handmade in batches in their studio, on the label, it tells you exactly who made your products! Most importantly, their products are non-toxic, vegan, cruelty-free and eco-friendly.
Evolve is one of my favourite natural skincare brands of all time. From the packaging, to the ingredients and the prices, it’s perfect. In the past, I’ve used their eye serum, masks and shampoos; and I’ve liked everything I’ve previously bought. This time around, I put my big blogger pants on and sent PR queries. As a micro blogger, I don’t usually receive a lot of replies but Evolve is micro-influencer friendly (another reason to love them). I told them my skin was acne-prone and they sent me their Rainforest Rescue Blemish Serum and their new launch, the True Balance Lotion.
Rainforest Rescue Blemish Serum

On their website, it states it is targeted for blemish prone and congested skin. Furthermore, Evolve states, it is for oily and combination skin to decrease the production of sebum and blemishes. It’s 99.7% natural and 82% organic. Moreover, the three main ingredient are: willow bark, acais and copaiba. If any of you have acne prone skin, you probably know willow bark, which is a a natural source of salicylic acid, is a must for acne prone skin. However, they warn that it is not recommended for pregnant ladies, so please be careful. Moreover, the acaia and copaiba, decreases sebum production. In addition, it also decreases the appearance of blemishes and pores.
Review:
As someone with acne prone and sensitive skin, I was having a hard time looking for a serum. Eventually, I gave up the search but when Evolve sent me their serum, I was absolutely excited to try. After the first day, my acne was less flared. When I eat like crap, my acne becomes inflamed and this really helps soothe the irritation and redness. I’ve been using it for about a month now and my skin is a lot more clear and less red. To be honest, the clearness occurred within the first week but I decided to wait a month so I can give you my final thoughts.
This is an absolute must for acne-prone skin. Furthermore, it has willow bark which is widely-known to improve acne-prone skin and their self-described amazonia blend really does its job. For those of you with acne, that have tried those overly drying creams or if salicylic acid it too harsh on your skin, I suggest using this natural version. Moreover, its price is £22 which is cheaper than most serums I’ve tried and it works a lot better! I wear this over my Thayers Witch Hazel toner and before the True Balance Lotion.
True Balance Lotion

According to their website, this is their latest launch and it’s a mattifying moisturiser. This is geared towards oily and combination skin. Its main ingredients include, moringa peptides, ginger plant cells and the highly acclaimed, hyaluronic acid. In addition, they use avocado extract, for oil-control. To learn more about these ingredients, please take a look at their website. Evolve claims it balances combination skin, reduces the appearance of pores and hydrates oily skin. Furthermore, it’s 99% natural.

YES,YES,YES! Did you know that some people don’t actually have acne, they have dehydrated skin? Dehydrated skin can cause acne, especially if your skin is not getting enough TLC. As soon as I added this lotion to my face, my face felt a lot more moisturised. The hydration via the hyaluronic acid, is definitely keeping my acne calm. As someone who is prone to milia, my skin cannot handle thick creams or serums. My skin is quite dehydrated because of the amount of acne products I used as a teenager. Even though, I always swore by SPF, I didn’t moisturise enough. Thus, this lotion is a dream. All you need is a pea size amount and it’s enough to cover your whole face. The price is £24 for 1.7fl oz, which is cheaper than most moisturiser and bigger.
I’ve been using Evolve for years and they are one of my most trusted natural skincare brands. If you suffer from acne, I highly recommend buying these two. They are a dream as a duo, but if you don’t want to commit, they also offer small travel sizes, for both the serum and lotion, which are £12 and £9, respectively. I’ve received a lot of their samples and I always end up buying the full size.
